In 1988, Mr. Jiang Zemin, the former Party General Secretary of China attended the Opening Ceremony of the Shanghai Trade Fair, which was held in the hotel's grand ballroom. Renovated in 2008, the hotel now boasts a sizeable lobby, which leads to the Garden Court Restaurant, serving a sumptuous international buffet. À la carte choices are, of course, also available. For night owls, room service and the business centre operate around the clock.
